How to Create 10 Engaging Pieces of Content From One Podcast Guest Interview
Improve your SEO, brand authority, content library, and more!
Getting a guest spot on a podcast is a much bigger opportunity than you might think. There are the obvious benefits: you’ll get to sit and chat with a host that has a ready-made, engaged audience. You’ll gain tons of brand exposure, enjoy the chance to flex your expertise and build authority, and potentially catch the ears of prospective investors and new customers.
But the advantages don’t end there. Once the podcast interview is over, you can continue using it in your marketing strategy. Leverage the time and effort you put into the podcast episode to turn it into other pieces of content.
We all know creating consistent content can take a lot of time and effort, but with a podcast interview, much of the work has already been done for you. All you have to do is repurpose your interview and share it with your audience.
Here are 10 effective ways you can repurpose a podcast interview for personal branding content:
1. Embed the Full Recording on Your Own Website
Sharing a link to Apple Podcasts or other third-party sites is a great way to give those sites free traffic. Instead, take that free traffic for yourself by embedding the podcast interview on your own website. This increases dwell time, reduces bounce rate, and can do your search rankings a favor. Plus, when you share the interview on social media, you can drive traffic back to your website.
2. Turn Your Interview into a Blog Post
Blog posts are the lowest hanging fruit of a guest podcast interview. Blog posts can help you reach a completely different audience—one that prefers to skim rather than listen. Long-form content is digital gold for search engines, and you should have plenty of content to work with to create a lengthy, keyword-rich blog post.
You don’t have to recreate the podcast word for word (that’s a transcript, which we’ll talk about in #6). Instead, you can turn your conversation into an organized, thoughtful piece that summarizes the ideas you shared and gives your readers clear takeaways.

3. Promote Your Interview on Social Media
One of the quickest ways to repurpose your guest podcast interview is by sharing a link to the interview on social media. Create an Instagram story or a Linkedin or Twitter text post and share the link to drive more traffic to your guest spot.
By the way, I’ve just started testing a new tool, Repurpose.io, which makes it super easy to repurpose video and audio content, turn it into video clips, and automatically publish it to different channels. Give it a try!
4. Use Canva to Create Visual Interest
Canva is a free photo editing tool that makes it easy to add visual interest to social media posts. Use Canva to create images in your brand colors and styles to highlight a quote from your interview, enhance video clips from your guest spot, or even turn ideas you shared into an infographic. And, of course, you’ll want to include a link to the podcast so your audience can get the full story.
5. Share Audio Clips from Your Interview
Take sound bites from your recording and share them as standalone content. It gives listeners a snippet of what your interview is about and can encourage them to listen to the whole recording. I use the tool Wavve to quickly and easily make animated videos with my audio clips.
6. Create a Transcript of the Interview
A transcript is a text document that details your podcast interview word for word. Tools like Rev can create an inexpensive transcript for you. Transcripts are beneficial because they’re inherently long-form content.
Your audience can skim the transcript on your website to get a gist of the interview, plus transcripts usually contain lots of keywords that help your SEO efforts.
7. Tag Former Guests of the Same Podcast
If you’re on a podcast that has had guests before you, tag a few of them on social media. Let them know you’ve also “joined the ranks” of the podcast’s guests—almost like creating an elite club of guest stars. You get their attention, you get in front of their audience, and you potentially drive more interest in your episode.
8. Create a Content Upgrade (AKA Lead Magnet)
You can turn your podcast insights into a free downloadable or other content to bring more value to your audience and build out your email list. This might be a tip sheet, checklist, or some other way of organizing the insights you shared in the interview.
9. Record a Video about the Podcast Interview
Most podcast hosts record video during their shows now also, giving you even more freedom to slice-and-dice the interview into additional content. But you can also record your own video about your experience going on the show and talking with the host. It’s an opportunity to provide additional value, by going deeper into a particular topic or simply sending your appreciation to the host for giving you the opportunity.
10. Share Your Podcast Interview and Content via Email
Got an email list? Share your podcast interview with your subscribers to drive more traffic to your website. If you’ve turned your podcast interview into a blog post, content upgrade, video clips, or sound clips, each of these things can be standalone emails, too!
