Exclusive Personal Branding Insights:
Could you share your perspective on the role your personal brand has played in building your business?
Although I have a team working with me, I am very much the face of the business.
Having a personal brand allows people to know who I am, what I stand for and helps support what I do.Â
It has allowed me more speaking opportunities, referrals, and connections. My personal brand has, additionally, expanded my reach when it comes to helping finding more clients looking for a service like mine.
What have been some of the methods or strategies that have made the biggest difference in building your brand and authority as an entrepreneur?Â
Iâve definitely built a great network. I like networking. I love meeting people! Pre-pandemic I hosted a monthly local networking group called the Linkedin Business Breakfast.
I also put on two conferences with a cohost here in Belfast, which really raised my profile. It also showed me as a speaker to other conference organizers. After I did the first one and I brought speakers over from the UK for it, I was then invited to speak at conferences in London, Dublin, & Los Angeles. And that was definitely strategic; creating your own speaking & networking events.Â
One example of the opportunities Iâve been offered from doing such events was becoming a Small Business Britain Champion with Small Business Saturday and Iâve established great relationships with people running that.Â
Relationships, grabbing opportunities when you can, and say yes to things.
What has been the most surprising benefit from building your personal brand?Â
When someone from Austin, Texas or somewhere reaches out to you and youâve never heard of them before and they say things like âoh, I was in my mastermind and they said you need to work with Louise Brogan.â You think WOW thatâs amazing!Â
You can make an impact and be memorable for people that live all over the world. Iâve worked with people from all over the world and I find that fascinating.
Final Thoughts:
Show up and be consistent. Decide where thatâs going to be, Instagram stories, Linkedin, Twitter, a podcast, and keep showing up.
Iâve consistently delivered a podcast for about three years every Wednesday. Sometimes theyâre 10 minutes long, sometimes theyâre an hour-long, but they are out every Wednesday.
You also canât spread yourself too thin if you want to be consistent.Â
Lastly, surround yourself with people who support you and take time for yourself (because that, in turn, will help your business).
âShow up and be consistent.â -Louise Brogan
